In a trade, the Rams would have to absorb the pro-rated portions of his contract onto their books. The new team would be getting him for much cheaper.
In 2020, the new team would owe him $13M. In 2021, $9M, and in 2022, $10M
That's not terribly bad if one thinks he's still a good RB.
Same economics for the other two...also on a lower level. After the Rams absorb part of the contracts for Higbee and Hav, their contracts could look pretty appetizing.
This is how Snead traded Ogletree's league highest ILB contract a couple of years ago. The new team is not picking up the entire contract.
