First off, on Lombardi...
He's pointing the finger at someone else's ego?
How about that for the pot calling the kettle black. This guy has the most obnoxious ego imaginable. And my bet is that he holds a grudge against the Rams for something.
Secondly, since its a good idea to listen to all opinions...
I think Lombardi is pointing the finger at Demoff and Snead. And I do think they have a tendency to overrate their decisions and themselves, especially Snead. There is some truth in Snead taking credit for the talent that Fisher had a big part in selecting in the draft. If body language means anything, Snead walks around like a peacock before games. I experienced it in NY in 2017 when my wife looked down on the field before the Giants game where Kroenke, Demoff, Snead, and Pastoors were talking, and she had no idea who any of them were and said that guy (referring to Snead) has a "my @!@! don't stink" look about him. At the time, I just thought it was curious that she picked Snead out of all of them.
Hey, maybe that's whats required of the job, but I do think Snead is a bit of a wildcard in forming an honest assessment of our talent. I know he's only part of a collaborative effort in contracts, but he should be most responsible for assessing the talent level of the player in comparison to other players in the league. I don't expect Demoff and Pastoors to be experts in that, they are finance guys. Anyways, Snead should be on the hot seat next year. If the team slides back to the pack, the finger should be pointed directly at him. FWIW, thats my take.
