Did the Rams just lose to the Bengals 45-6?

November 26, 2019 06:36PM
Funny, because many of the reactions I'm reading seem to be as if that is what happened Monday night.

They lost to a team that is probably on their way to the Super Bowl, led by a QB who is playing like Superman....virtually unstoppable....behind a dominating offensive line, a top level defense, and plenty of weapons.

Weddle is quoted as saying: "I Kid you not, Half the time I didn't know who had the ball"

It reminds me of when Dan Dierdorf said during a GSOT game vs. the Dolphins that the Rams were dominating: 'For the Rams, this looks like the Saturday walk through"

The Rams are obviously struggling in a lot of areas, but they got their asses handed to them by a team playing out of their minds. A team that has been blowing up teams every week for the last 5 weeks, including the Seahawks, Patriots, and Texans.

And based on that, what is the answer? Make massive changes, clean house....start over?

Does everyone here have amnesia about what it was like before McVay got here?

He's a very young coach who got off to an unbelievably good start, but is now facing a lot of adversity for the first time.

Did everyone think we'd be 12-4 every season? We all know how hard it is to win in the NFL...every year is different. The Rams clearly aren't as good as they
were last year and there are a number of teams that are A LOT better than they were in 2018 (Seahwaks/Niners/Vikings/Packers/Ravens/Cardinals). The Rams were very fortunate with injuries in '17 and '18. If the 2018 O-line had the injuries that the 2019 team has had, they almost surely wouldn't have made the Super Bowl. That's how it goes.

Yes, it was as horrible a loss as you can have, but it's disturbing to see such radical suggestions being thrown out there to get it fixed. Burn it all down? Where's the perspective?

I think the right people are in place to get it fixed and I want to give them the chance to get it done.

There's a great saying about the NFL that I always keep in mind: Things are never as good as you think they are when you win and they're never as bad as you think when you lose.
