work in the NFL for more than a few games....that's why we rarely have ever seen it over the years.
Kinda same with the Air-Raid offenses though those were coming into style lately. But stopping the run from those old Wing-T weird running offenses has not been hard for NFL teams until this year...and only the Ravens are doing it consistently. iirc
It was one of the most dominating beatdowns I have ever seen as a Rams' fan...and the Ravens were just glorious to watch and Jackson has just another gear and runs that offense perfectly while being an above avg passer. It was amazing to watch...and pretty exciting for the future cuz many colleges run that type of offense and the Air-Raid in college which means we could get an influx of very different QBs coming into the NFL with the skills tailor made to fit either an
Air-Raid passing, or
Navy style option running attack or a classic
drop-back passer type of QB and offense - which is fun & good for the game of NFL football.
I always thot no teams ran that Navy/option offense cuz it wouldn't work in the NFL cuz all the defenders were such great athletes I always heard.
College ALL running or ALL passing offenses wouldn't work in the NFL they said...and so, the
basic drop back Pro style offense was the only type that would produce true QB talents for the NFL. If teams can be effective with all the diverse college style offenses out there then, that will make the NFL game very fun to watch - cept when yer not the team getting it's arse whooped to it!! lol
btw - I still like the Ramsey trade and would rather have
him than the extra #1 & #4th rounders we lost for him. My thinking is that anyone would
easily pony up a #1 pick in the upcoming draft for Ramsey so
the real cost are the 2 extra picks. imo
It's the offense that has let us down this year.....and that's on McVay to fix it. I think he's smart enough and has the right demeanor to fix the problem. The defense has been playing well -
sans last night and the TB game...but it's hard when the offense hands you 3&Outs all the time.
