i really can't see how the rams 2020 cap space allows both to come back, maybe one of them.
fowler has been a bit of a disappointment to me. i was hoping the rams would get him before they did, i thought something was there but he just hasn't taken it to the next level despite having donald in front of him. plus, old man matthews has more sacks this season even though he spotted fowler 3 games. unless fowler tests the market in free agency and is deemed by the other 31 teams unworthy of a starting edge rusher salary, he won't be back.
i'm ready to admit i was wrong on fowler and move on.
this may not be brockers best year but he's on pace to be close to his best. i don't know what that's worth for a vet dt headed into their 3rd contract, but here's the thing - in 2020, the rams only have donald, smart, sjd and gaines under contract. for all the consternation and debate here about the oline, the dline situation after this year really concerns me. just haven't seen anything jump off the screen at me from gaines, smart or sjd that makes me feel the rams are set on the dline in 2020.
i haven't looked forward to see what alternatives to brokers are out there in free agency in 2020 but i would not be surprised to see brockers back in 2020.
