Exactly. Hoodie always gets rid of a player a year too early than a year too late (e.g. Mike Vrabel, Vince Wilfork, Wes Welker and many others) He has done this repeatedly in his 20 years in NE.

And it's not because he trades players away.

In fact the secondary is good because they DIDN'T trade players away.

No there is only one "secret" to the Patz success.

Have a team quarterbacked by Brady and coached by Belichick.

Don't have that, and no matter what you do, you will not duplicate the Patz.

Acting like they have some formula is missing the real point. You can trade away players all you want. Means nothing. The only way to duplicate the Patz is to have a Brady and a BB at the same time. That's it.
