I know your post is get help with 6 man front, and I am not being negative when I say this, the Rams do not do well with 6 man fronts (goaline D) because they are not a physical team, they are a finesse team, even when they double team people they do not blow them out they prevent them from getting to the QB. There is an old expression, "Never fight another man's fight". Our answer for a 6 man front is go over the top with Cooks, we need another weapon like a TE (Everett) to punish a D for committing that much to stop the run.
What I loved about McVay even though we had several 3 and outs he stayed true to his game plan.
