Not because of what Bortles would do, what the rest of the team would be forced to do. McVay would have to clean things up and call a tighter game and the players would have to be on their "A" game to support him. Maybe get Gurley more involved, spread the ball around to more players, etc.
I don't know what's going on with Goff but it's more than the o-line. He has been playing poorly since the bye last year and the line wasn't a problem that whole time. But I also don't see why they keep choosing to exclude Gurley.
A shakeup at QB won't save this season but I'm sure curious to see if the results would be any different. I can't give the benefit of doubt that Goff isn't a part of the problem.
