Football is not like other sports. The starting WB usually takes every snap unless injured or may come out in a blowout. When you make a change you now have a new starting QB. Also, Goff is much better than Bortles. Every day of the week. Nobody throws strikes downfield while on his back. They keep calling Brady GOAT, but he has all day to throw. He often works through his progressions and has time to look at his first read a second time. Goff is getting whacked as he comes to a stop in his 5 step drop back. Where are the bubble screens and quick slants? Screens? Ins or outs? Where is the little dump off to the HB in the flat?
I haven't seen any scheme adjustments for our injured OL. The only difference I've seen is we have run draws on third and longs. You don't bench our 115 million dollar QB half way into a season unless he's hurt. You adjust the game plan to maximize the things you can still do well.
