Lots of other players that I just love, but those 8 are the only current untouchables, IMO.
If they are core, they are untouchable.
I'm simply challenging whether Woods is part of that. I'm also gently challenging the idea that it's possible to have 8 players considered untouchable.
Two players in Gurley and Cooks are on the core / untouchable list simply because we've already committed money to them and we can't escape for a couple of years. If we add those 2 to your 8, that's 10 players that we're either already committed to or want to commit to. That seems like it will be very difficult or impossible.
So my core list is a little more narrow than yours: Goff, Gurley, Cooks, AD, Ramsey.
I'd love to have Woods and Kupp on the list for the offensive side but given that we've already committed money to Gurley and Cooks, we're eventually gonna run into the problem of how to fit them all in. Given those 5, my suspicion is we have space for one more core player.
I loved JJ last year but haven't seen enough from him this year to put him on the list.
