Seriously, since when did only good OL come in the first round?
I'd venture to say that most of the starting OL in the NFL came outside of round one.
This list of first round bust OL, just by the Rams alone is a long one.....the last three first round OL the Rams drafted have all been complete busts

So that leaves the draft, and the best interior OL will be gone in the 1st and then its kinda a crap shoot (right now). Thats fine, because there are some 2nd to 4th round guys I like that could help the Rams.
As you can see, i never said anything like OL only come from 1st rounders. Heck, I even know the Rams have an affinity to draft OL in later rounds as part of their philosophy. But if you took some time and actually read what I wrote, you will see what my problem really is:

The problem I have, is with a lack of 2 1sts, how are you really going to rebuild the offensive and defensive lines. IMO good teams build from the inside out and the Rams seemingly are doing the opposite.
Which leaves me to why I haven't liked much or anything today: Your highest paid players are Goff, Gurley and Donald, and you are leaving them hanging out to dry.
Let me ask you a serious question. Don't dance around it or avoid it. Just answer it honestly.
How does Jalen Ramsey protect Jared Goff? How does he keep Jared Goff from getting battered into David Carr? How does Jalen Ramsey keep Jared Goff from getting seriously injured from all the hits he is gonna take behind that OL? How does Jalen Ramsey give Jared Goff enough time to throw to our very good WR group farther then 3 yards down the field?
That's the problem I have with the Ramsey trade. That and the fact that he is an asshat, but to each their own. You, yourself in defense of Jared Goff have repeatedly said that the OL is a mess. So fix the danged OL. Or fix the front 7 and use higher draft picks on the OL. But minus a couple of 1st rounders, the Rams room for error on picking becomes so much smaller.
And FWIW, from a study in 2015, success rate (players that started half their careers) for OL goes like this:
1st - 83%
2nd - 70%
3rd - 40%
4th - 29%
5th - 16%
6th - 16%
7th - 9%
So if you want a starting OL, get them early. [

Like I said, there is plenty of talent to be had in the the second and third round.
The Rams seem to have a philosophy that seems to be working and that is to use draft picks for proven players rather then the Greg Robinson's and Jason Smith's of the world.
Jalen Ramsey might not be your favorite humanitarian but the kid can play corner and can change the entire complexion of a defense. ..
The Rams recently scored 40 and 29 points and lost both of those games..... perhaps a defense that can hold teams to under 24 points a game would help win games too.
I don't think the Rams are done yet either when it comes to fixing the o-line issues and will at least see a much easier schedule the next six games will help also.
There is no magic formula for anything, but considering how far the Rams have come from just a few years ago when they did things like nothing in trades and drafted o-line early, I'm not gonna argue with success
