They keep trying to run Gurley wide against defenses that are set up to stop the us from running wide. If we countered with 2 TE and some power running up the middle Gurley will look good. I hated when we were 2nd and 1 that we ran wide and lost 5 years. That just makes me crazy. Get the 1st down especially early in the game when you want to establish a rhythm.
According to Football Outsiders, which keeps stats on this, the Rams are ranked 2nd in the league running up the middle (they count it as guard to guard). Rams run up the middle 43% of the time. 2nd to that is over left tackle (20% of the time).
