Keep in mind the fact that it turns out on a tv replay there WAS a helmet to helmet violation doesn't mean the refs screwed up. We know from the posts here that at least one poster sitting directly above the play said it was NOT a helmet to helmet. Others who were not directly above the play said it was as did many who watched the game on tv. Keep in mind the refs were on the field and simply may have missed what may have been a close call. I was sitting at the 10 yd line on the tunnel side and didn't even see it. I had to be told by someone next to me that had glasses on the play that Peters simply got flattened and doubted he would even return to the field. We can't fault refs when a later slow reply shows they may have missed a close call. Vicious hit-yes-but also a close call.
It wasn't close, it was a blatant helmet to helmet spearing. I could understand it not being called if the refs just simply didn't see it but if they did see it and didn't call it that is unacceptable.
I hope the guy gets a big fine levied.
