I mean, I know Ramsey will want top dollar and we'll need to sign him to a big contract...and he'll likely cost us 2 - #1 picks in process.
However, my thinking is that I'm drafting a CB in the 1st round this draft anyway
- to replace Tailib & Peters...and to know that Ramsey is already an NFL All-Pro and is only 24yrs old...seems like a bargain.
Since I'm drafting a CB high next year anyway...that 1st round pick is already spent...so adding another the following year is not too tall a task...especially if we might lighten the deal if we throw in a player
(WR Reynolds?) to Jax to bring the price down.
The biggest deal is the cost of his contract extension. Could we afford it is the only question that folks on the board who know the cap would have to weigh in..
but talent-wise, isn't Ramsey one of the best 1 or 3 CBs in the NFL???? It might be worth it. I'd feel better about signing Ramsey and losing picks than re-signing Peters who is not as good and will want 20m anyway.
thots???
