The Jags are said to be asking for two first round picks (and a little more) for Ramsey. They might get one 1st and a mid round pick. Or a high pick plus a good player. Problem is, is there really a good player who'd want to go to the Jags right now? That's a team that's on the edge of imploding.
The Jags are in a downward spiral. Losing their starting QB in week 1. Fournette has never really panned out. Their GM is old school.....and old! Their HC is a very conservative power football, defense wins games kind of guy. This doesn't work well with this new generation of NFL football whereby offenses can take advantage of rules that tend to handcuff the D's. Nor with the youth movement not only in FOs but also with HCs. And fans look around and want their teams to have offenses like the Rams, Saints, Chiefs..... fun to watch.
Ramsey has made it clear he's done with the Jags.
Are the Jags truly done with him?
The AB thing has to be on the minds of every GM and HC in the league when they start dealing with a disgruntled, out spoken player with a big ego. And, if you are a bad team looking for a really good player, might Ramsey and his agent play you like AB did to get to where he wants to go?
Bottom line: very good teams won't pay the Jag's asking price; and not very good teams ought to be wary because Ramsey won't play nice if it's not where he wants to go.
Will be interesting to see how this soap opera plays out.
