I have been calling him Hagar. His actual name, as you correctly type it, is Hager.

Hagar, of course, was the handmaid of Sarai who bore Father Abraham a son when Sarai could not conceive. I guess those long ago Sunday School studies prevailed.

Then of course there is the Hagar the Horrible comic.
