IMO unless you are a perennial loser (like we used to be) these games are for the newbies to the pro game and 2nd year guys to play basic football...no scheming, no game planning. Just run simple plays on both sides of the ball and see who has ball instincts, overall awareness, fundamentals like proper tackling. I saw some of that last night especially from Rapp, Peterson......and I saw the speed of Henderson a couple times.
Boring compared to real games absolutely, but IMO these games weed out some and can give some vision to those who can help the team over time....Most important was no injuries so these guys can strap it up again in Hawaii.....clean up some penalties....and have the young guys improve from game 1....
We know a lot of these guys.....well their dream of playing with Pro helmets will be short, but it would be something I would love to feel for myself.....boring for us yes...not for those kids out there on the field.....
