A few weeks before the Rams signed Bortles, I said that I thought the Rams should go after him and that he'd come on a low ball deal just to rebuild his rep with McVay in a low pressure situation.
Pretty much got the same reaction...... that I'm a little bit nuts, or maybe stupid (which may well be true).
Hey: I got a 50/50 chance on this one. Either I'm right and a strong preseason is enough to get the media doing what the media does (which is to stir up controversy) or I'm wrong. Clearly Goff is NOT a media favorite because he's so low key.
But you can bet that Bortles is going to get at least 60% of the snaps in the preseason because he has to learn the offense as the back up. And, although he won't be playing with the 1's, he will be playing with the next tier down, as opposed to the 3rd QB who plays mostly with the "I don't think so" guys.
