Adding the brilliant Matthews to the middle of the field ought to reassure us of any lapses that Kiser may experience
I don't doubt that limiting Matthews work over the summer will add to reps of Kiser.
Fact is that limiting reps may be the bane of summer. I thoroughly expect to see the rookies, 2nd and 3rd years to get a load of work, and the vets to virtually be eye candy. While that isn't news, McVay chose to up the ante on this facet of preseason by eliminating every one of note from being on the field at all during preseason games. I can't fault that approach, as it worked out. However, the Raider game had lot of issues as the season opener.
Henderson at RB on hindsight shouldn't have surprised me as a selection. During the Super Bowl I had momentarily ranted that they needed to give Kelley at shot to run the ball. It just seemed that we need a change up in that backfield. Pointed out to me on the board when my excitement ran too high about Henderson, is that gaudy stats don't make for on-field delivery. Ought to be a great bit of fun to see if, and when, the Memphis kid can light it up. Should get his opportunities.
Kromer will have his work cut out for this summer. With very little of his starting tackles to work with on limited snaps, the OL rookies, and Demby will see a lot of time filling in. Could be that Blake Bortles will have to use them legs during the course of preseason games.
Florida might have chose Obo or another Tight End, or just about anyone to examine.
I found it most credible to him that he selected Morgan Fox as a topic. Fox was a guy I like out there. He's got some size, and Meyers kind of filled that role to a degree when he went down. Not suggesting that Fox is going to an epic "come back player of the year" But he is solid depth, and seems to get it. If there's a section of the roster to whittle at? Sure appears it's around here. In Wade's defense front, there's paw in the dirt on the edge and a stand up on the other side. This may be the knock down drag out area of the roster for us.
BTW, I've never been to Napa. That would be a fun thing.
