some interesting takes
For me, Kelly is a complete mirror body wise of Henderson.
If Kelly were to be conceived as the answer to the depth chart, I'm pretty sure they would have gone a different direction with their draft at that point. Henderson's analytics suggest that he's ripe to take serious workload ahead. Kelly won't. I think Davis is the keeper, however they might just go three RBs on the roster.
Brings me to Hodge vs Thomas. Hodge has good size and appears to a competent route runner. Thomas has some nice upside, but repeatedly has had trouble of one sort or another. Thomas has the wheels to take it to the house. Do we need that? Is it redundant?
I actual think this is where the 4th RB may be struck out, and an addt'l WR kept. (I'd lean toward a LB or DB, too, especially a special teamer over RB4)
BTW, the ejection of Higbee and going with Everett would be a big mistake. Watch the lousy blocking by Everett, especially in the Saint game. Only a piece miraculous athleticism by Goff saves that game as Everett is absolutely blown up by a defender on one play. Only Blanton, imo, has the inline body to take up that Higbee blocking aspect.
Good take, Sun, on Demby and is future at RG, and Blythe moving to the middle. Not sure, but a FA would not surprise. (esp at center)
I am interested to see Carraway and Dakota. There's a gig up for grabs. Carraway has an edge as he was sought out and signed, but I am curious.
Camp notes will be fun this year, as always.
btw, one of the players is renting a place from my family by the Cal Lutheran facilities.
