Good overall team that was yet again held back by the QB spot most of the year. While I always liked Bartkowski and he was not a Pastorini-style disaster, he was at the end of a good career and he and Dils completed 47 percent of their passes in 11 starts... Only one WR with even 30 catches. Everett came in and the dynamic changed immediately. It was night and day even though he was so raw.
Meanwhile they had (again) a great rushing offense with Dickerson and Redden- over 140 yards per game.
1986 was probably also their best defense of Robinsons teams. Top 5 in points allowed, yards allowed, turnovers, run defense.
The Hail Mary loss to New England at home cost them a 2nd straight NFC West title. Granted they would have simply gone to NY to get waxed by the Giants instead of the wildcard loss at Washington... but still...
