Always felt Knox (one of the best coaches the team ever had) limited that offense as much as Haden's arm.
Maybe, but Knox did like to throw the deep pass and Haden did not have the arm for that. In fact, that is why Knox was always behind James Harris was because Harris had the type of Arm Knox liked for his offense, although he preferred running the ball. Fred Dryer summed it up best in an article I read several years ago about Malavasi over Knox.
Dryer said, he knew Malavasi would take chances, whereas, Knox, didn't and although that played out well during the season, it was why he always came up short in post season. But Knox just seemed never to have the luck or QB during his tenures for either team. Against the Vikings, he would go for it and they would get stopped or kick the Field Goal and it would get blocked, just seemed snake bit, not only in Los Angeles, but in Buffalo and Seattle too.
