Great question, and some great responses. My 2 bits worth:
1. In this twitter-verse their are too many opinions and few well reasons assessments. To me it seems like many writers same some inflammatory to be noticed. Their are only I few guys I like reading/listening to, the mast majority of the others simply annoy me.
2. However, I’ve remember reading an article a few months back, the 1st one I saw regarding the Rams possibly no resigning Goff and replacing him with another draft pick. At first I said no way, however, after thinking about it I had to agree with his primary concern, i.e. overpaying a QB to the detriment of having the $ to bring in better players. Now, I think think he has a valid point IN regarding to overpaying a QB, not necessarily resigning Goff.
3. Personally, I think Goff is a top 10 QB. I also think he will improve. He may never be a top 3 (Brady, Rodger, Brees & Wilson), but I think can get the the next group, top 5-7. My question do we get rid of a 2nd tier QB with the hopes of replacing him with an elite QB? My answer, way to risky!! We would be lucky to find someone as good as goff.
4. There are several reason I like Goff ALOT! Enjoyed RockRams post, and agreed with the vast majority of what he wrote. I’m confined Goff will improve, just not sure how high he ceiling is. Plus, gotta love McVay being his QB Whisper. Think he has and will learn a lot on leadership from the Jedi-Coach.
5. I say keep Goff, and hope he “settles” for tier 2 $$.
