Great Points. Les Snead did several interviews where he joked that the Rams did "very little" scouting of the college QBs. If you listen to McVay talk about Goff, they are absolutely joined at the hip going forward. McVay is not going to want to start over with someone less talented with all these guys (Donald Gurley, Cooks) signed to five year deals. And not a single person who has suggested not paying Goff has offered a credible alternative moving forward that would make the Rams a better team or a team more likely to win the SB.
The Rams have long said that they have budgeted Goff's and Donald's contracts into their plans moving forward into the new stadium. They are cornerstones of the franchise. I don't know how this author ranked his QBs, but I am pretty sure if you asked the Rams' brass the same question they would put him at #1.
