McVay noticed how the Pats changed up their personnel in the SB. Matthews is there to give different looks come the SB. He is a guy that can show ILB and play outside or shift to safety etc. This is what I believe McVay took from the big game, this is why versatility is so important and why it was mentioned about so many draft picks too.
