I have a question for you now:

Would you feel satisfied if either Suh or Matthews balled out from September through November, but then "coasted" (your word) in December, January, and February?

absolutely not. i would be perfectly happy if matthews shined bright late regular season through the post season and was nothing special september through november though. and suh's post season performance made me happy.

as other's pointed out, i think it would be wise to have matthews on a pitch count of sorts through most of the regular season though to keep him fresh for the post season. the same might be said of weddle, not sure on that one though.
