After watching Suh coast through most of the regular season last year, why on earth would you want to pay him top dollar THIS year?

If it were me, I would be lowballing him, too. If he takes it, fine. If he rejects it, fine.

I think Suh really burned some bridges with his lackluster play for $14M last year. We’ll see how foolish (or desperate) some GM’s are this offseason. Here’s hoping at least one bites for a big salary for him so that we can get another comp pick.

But that’s the extent of my interest in Suh at this point.

If I were a team expected to make the playoffs this season (and I could negotiate a suitable contract), I'd sign him in a heartbeat. Suh earned every single dollar when the Rams needed him the most. I could care less what he did against the likes of Oakland or San Francisco. I needed him to stick his head into the pile, blow up the guard, and stop Elliot on 4th down in the Divisional. Then, I needed him to sack Brees and help foil the Saint rushing attack in the Conference Finals. Finally, I needed him to help hold Brady and Patriots to 13 points in the Super Bowl.

Again, if I had a team that was poised to make a run at the Super Bowl...I'd sign him.

If the cost was affordable and a lot less than last years' $14 million - say around vet minimum, I would sign him too.

In a heartbeat.

If you’re an NFL GM, ask yourself this question...
