We hope Gaines is a terrific player but he's never played a single NFL snap. I don't agree that he coasted so much during the regular season and he was playing out of position at NT. He is best in the same role as AD and his presence helped AD have the best season ever for a DT. Was he completely dominant? No. Was he worth nearly a million a game? Absolutely no. But, for the right price as a rotation DL at all 3 spots he could be a help. I really don't get all the venom for this guy. He played like an All Pro in the playoffs and we nearly won a SB with him. He probably won't be back and I think this will be a loss.
