If the money is good enough and if Kromer is as happy here as I think he is, then he may stick around for a little while. Fingers crossed.
I think he's in league "coaching blacklist" territory. The stuff in Chicago and Buffalo was bad. It will probably take years for that tarnish to wear off. In other words, the only way to hire him is to promote him, and I don't think anyone (at this point anyway) is willing to cross the PR barrier and do that.

I guess that Kromer’s and other teams that need HC help loss will be our gain for the near future. But how long can a needy team afford to ignore Kromer’s obvious excellence at identifying, developing, and handling players? I dunno...
Like I said, their loss is our gain.
