Cancer and death
Heyward died on May 27, 2006, at the age of 39, a year after another cancerous tumor developed that had metastasized to his brain; the recurrence of the tumor proved to be inoperable. Heyward had also experienced a stroke in the years prior to his death.[

I remember Heyward saying he was frustrated with Vermeil for only giving him the "dummy routes" which was a reference to decoy work rather than carries.
I remember Heyward talking about recently diagnosed brain tumors. He said they were described to him as being the shape of shrimp. His response (which was said with a laugh) "Let's hope they are like popcorn shrimp."
