and I think while they would like to spell Gurley, the Rams lack explosiveness when Gurley was off the field...knee or no knee.
This opens up options for McVay to use...formation wise...personnel wise...even more explosion. Think of this guy in the slot with Cooks on his side. Cooks clears out and Henderson, who unlike Austin, has explosion and strength.
I can see him on the edge with some open space against a DB or LB and you're looking at some big plays.
I'm not saying Gurley's knee isn't a consideration. But, knee or no knee, we need more options. We took so much pride running out of the same formation. But, like I said, by the end of the season, teams started to figure it out. We didn't see as many big plays...we didn't see wide open receivers like we did early.
I love the pick and my guess is the Rams had this guy pegged early on in the process.
I find it interesting that I've read for two years now about what McVay says and trust in McVay. Now McVay says Gurley will be fine and we drafted this guy regardless of Gurley...and now he's hiding something.
