Did the Rams even make it to the red zone in the SB? They were still having offensive issues... just worse in the SB than when Gurley started to have his issues.
Love McVay and what he is able to do but I kind of see him as allowing the offense to overachieve. Its much easier when things are open between the 20's. But its probably as much a talent problem as it is a play calling issue.
I'm not one to believe that all of a sudden the Rams have a roster of great offensive players. I think they have solid players across the board and with a guy like McVay who can open things up, it helps the players be successful. Harder to get guys open when the playing field has shrunk. Gurley of course did very well punching the ball in.
The Rams biggest problem is the running game. I guess its my opinion. It sets up the pass (and a lot more)... especially via play action. Play action and a running game seems to help the offensive line in pass protection and give Goff the time a young. QB needs to be effective.
