I'm thinking that after next year when we move boom to LT...
hopefully, Allen is solid at OC...and Hav at RT....we will have 2 open OG spots...
completely open positions with
no depth as of now. Blythe will cost market to re-sign him...so, I think he's gone and we get a comp pick.
Soooo, now hear me out...
I am thinking we fix Ol for starters and depth with 2 OL among the first 3 picks in this draft....but maybe....
ALL 3 picks we take OL------------------ 1st
(or trade down) and both thirds. Gulp.
Yes, I know we need DL and I've only been thinking THAT approach to this draft...
however, our OL doesn't even have bodies let alone quality bodies or depth.
What would we get for that investment???? Well, seriously decent talent at IDL and maybe draft an OT...that sit and learn this year...or start if they are ready. And we don't worry about paying big money to OL for the next 4yrs. Meanwhile, next years draft we go ALL defense to get right. OL takes some time to gel and learn to work in concert and I think is a bit different than defense in that way. I sure would LOVE to have 3 quality OL sit this year - provide depth, learn how the pros do it ..with 2 starting OGs with 1 quality depth player in 2020.
OR....I'm cool with the first pick being 1 DL
(BPA of EDGE or DT/5-tech)...and then 2 OL in the 3rd round
