I’ve heard Simmons may not need the entire year to redshirt. I’ve seen some reports stating that he may be ready to play by mid-season. Besides, since we kept Brockers and we have JFM who seems poised for a bigger role, I don’t know that we absolutely have to have Simmons this year.
My guess is they will already be drafting a couple of DL depth players and possibly singing some minimum vets later.
I like your thought regarding drafting an OT. What I’ve heard is that the interior OL this year isn’t so great and that the best bet for a starting guard is to convert one of the OTs which is exactly what you’re stating.
