Report: Rams to meet with QB Blake Bortles on MondayThe Rams will host Blake Bortles on a visit Monday, according to Mike Silver of NFL Network.
Their interest in Bortles would seem to indicate the Rams plan on moving on from Sean Mannion. Mannion, the Rams’ third round pick in 2015, is an unrestricted free agent. He’s spent the past couple of years as Jared Goff’s backup, and hasn’t seen any real regular season action other than a Week 17 spot start in 2017 with the Rams resting all of their starters.
Whether it’s through the draft of a free agent like Bortles, it’d be best for the Rams to replace Mannion
. Bortles has made a ton of money the past few years and still is getting paid a guaranteed $6.5 million from the Jaguars for 2019, so the Rams could probably get him pretty cheaply. Bortles has become a punching bag in the media in recent years, but he’s more than capable of being a solid backup.

I was wondering how they could afford him....but there it is......the Jags owe him $6.5 mil
Great....I'd sign him in a second.....he's 10X better than Mannion. He'd probably be thrilled to play for McVay.
I hope it happens.
