Rams receivers are good at what they do, provided they don't have to fight 50/50 for a ball. Woods and Kupp are good at getting to the designated spot....but as we heard last night.....the Pats double teamed Woods. So they took their chances with Reynolds and Cooks being singled. Goff could rarely find Reynolds....and Cooks just got out-muscled on a few scoring opportunities.
In games like that, where the QB just tosses the ball up....is where this team BADLY needs a #1 WR who can go up and get it. In last year's Superbowl, the Eagles had three....Aghalor, Jeffries, and Ertz. Each of them would not have an issue attacking a 50/50 opportunity.....and the Patriots struggled against it.
Goff made several spectacular throws throughout the year. But how many key receptions were the result of the Receiver going up....boxing out the space....and willing himself to come down with the ball? Not many.
