I am not saying TE is set.....but I'm not saying a QB is regressing when he has a bad game either, as you say. Goff did regress.
The TE's were not a factor in that game, very true. But there are several things that may go into that.....need for more blocking as the line was poor, they may have been open, but watching on a TV you can't see it and he just did not throw in the progression, just a few possibilities.
IMO it's knee jerk reaction after a game to make a broad statement. Do we have a Gronk type? No we don't and that's maybe because they are not out there to just pick off a TE tree. This is the typical comment. I've been very clear that I understand Gronk's don't grow on trees. So this comment is a non starter. Knee jerk reaction? lol You obviously have read my posts for the last two years! Knee jerk...that is hilarious! I mean...even those that disagree with me would have to tell you...my comments are FAR from knee jerk.
IMO we have bigger issues to deal with as Whit may well retire, if Suh, Peters, Fowler, Barron, CJ, Talib may retire...that's a lot of D players who may be leaving....some will be taken care of in house with in house younger guys, but I think those are more prominant in us keeping the ball going forward than getting a TE like Gronk. We need a TE badly. You want Jared Goff to fully develop...get a "best friend"...get him a TE. Ask about any great QB. There are few who can do it without...but most of them are mobile...something Goff isn't.
