Completely agree on the comments about Rams having to put Gurley on the injury report if he is indeed injured. The entire eyes of the NFL are watching Gurley right now....so they wouldn't be able falsify his status if he was indeed injured. Even some players that have illness get listed. But something like tendinitis, which is more af a residual pain....rather than acute injury or illness can probably be unreported.
The Rams would simply not risk Gurley's long term health if they diagnosed any form of injury....particularly if it was related to the ACL surgery. He probably has about 5 years left of top-level production (of which they have already committed to pay him a minimum of $45 Million of ver the next four). They rested him plenty before the Cowboy game....but don't feel the need to keep him out of practices this week?
So to me, I would agree there is "something" going on....but it's most likely some type of tendinitis that just needs to be managed and will only get completely better with complete rest after the Rams win the Super Bowl.
As far as why he only had 5 touches against the Saints....McVay is has been not waiting very long to make adjustments. After Gurley's two pass drops....he figured he has CJ.....so just switch it up. He wasn't going to wait.
My bigger concern is that Gurley just doesn't seem to have the initial burst of speed that he had much earlier in the season. Not sure what's causing it....but maybe McVay sees it too. It could just be the long grind of a season.
