I agree with ZN that Snead is collaborative and that is how he manages to do so well.
With Fisher Snead worked in a collaborative manner but I think Fisher had final say on matters. Snead got Fisher type of players and there was less of a above the shoulders weighting used than with McVay. The freak athlete like who was productive in college but raw for the pro game bit them in the butt big time with Robinson and Quick.
I don't think either of those players would be drafted to fit into a McVay team. Snead is looking for really smart players with great football skills. Those are the types of players than can be developed. Drafting players with an eye toward player development means you have scouted the above the shoulders aspect really well and have more confidence in their ability to learn and grow. But that is part of the collaboration, it is how the coaching staff is built and how it all fits together for the Rams.
As for Snead taking credit I don't have a problem with that at all. He is after all the General Manager and responsible for all of the teams performance even moreso now that Fisher is gone. While Snead was really 2nd in command before he is now the big cheese and owns it. He is the one who would have been fired if McVay did not work out. He is the one who took the big chance and convinced the organization to take a big chance. If you noticed Snead and the Rams have started an entire coaching trend in the NFL.
Snead is responsible for putting together the roster and picking some great players that are great regardless of the system. So he should be taking credit for he has done a great job and we have a roster full of talent and he runs the organization that is all on the same page.
Demoff hasn't brought that much to the table other than the Salary Cap expertise. His support of Fisher for so long shows a lack of vision for how a football team needs to be constructed and the type of coaches you need. Still had is great on the Cap and is in charge of the move to LA and the building of a new great stadium. So he is important and now that Snead/McVay are in charge and of one mind the football part is in great shape too.
