Yep, the Saints had a great run D this season. But then they lost Rankins. I would have thought that that would have made our job a bit easier.
And has there been a more devastating running game in the entire league than the Rams for the preceding 3 games? Even when it was just CJ?
Yet this exact same OL and CJ/Gurley struggled to get 77 measley yards when they desperately wanted them. Kinda like a bug hitting the windshield at 70 mph on the interstate.
Had to be the result of some bodacious scheming and play by that Saint D.
As to Gurley? I dunno. I suspect that something is up. And I further suspect that McVay, bless his heart, is being less that totally honest about it to minimize team distractions. Nothing else makes much sense.
