Yes, it played a pivotal part, but to say something like that undermines a great fightback and a tremendous season.
I can recognize it was a poor decision in the same way that AD was held all freakin season with rarely getting a call or Goff being face-masked today.
The Saints didn't lose because of that call, they lost because they couldn't finish us off and because we fought like lions (Rams) to get back into the game.
They should have been out of sight by then not worrying about one call in a game that consisted of scores.
I'm not sure how to word it to make it not sound like I'm not happy the Rams are back in the SB. I am. Totally.
But as a Rams fan I'm much more comfortable acknowledging that the Saints were royally screwed and that the Rams would have lost on that play if it were called correctly. There's no shame in being honest about why the Rams made it. That isn't dismissing the long season and everything else they did...which was a lot. But on top of all of that, the Refs gave them the gift of extending the game when it should have been over.
