3. CJ Anderson really provided a boost since he signed. It will be interesting to see how many carries he gets in the playoffs. I'm also curious to see if McVay puts in a few wrinkles that will place CJ and TG on the field at the same time (perhaps with Gurley shifting to the WR spot).
I like the idea of TGII taking some plays as WR so both he and CJ can be on the field at the same time
Compared to most running backs, TGIII is a very good receiver. The triple-threat he presents as runner/receiver/passpro out of the backfield makes him invaluable.
But is he really a great receiver compared to pure receivers? What's the magic in putting CJ and TG on the field at the same time if you're going to diminish TG's value by making him a "pure" receiver? Maybe if you get him on a linebacker out wide...
OTOH, I LOVE the idea of Gurley and CJ
in the backfield together. Both of them in a position to run/catch/passpro. Throw the threat of the jet sweep and the potential for utter confusion and wild mismatches for the defense is endless.
