Sometimes I think we have a whole slew of Eors around here.
Sure, the loss against the Bears was ugly. But guess what; we're still tied for the best record in all of football!! We've already clinched the NFC West and are about 1 win from clinching a 1st round bye.
I can understand the upset over the loss (to a degree). But it's the upset over the wins that is very hard to understand. This is a very hard league to win in. And to win 11 out of the 13 games you've played is just outstanding by any measure.
Nothing is more usual than for an excellent team to go through a short spell of stumbling all over themselves.
But from the 30,000 foot view the one thing I will NEVER worry about is our offense. Until a couple of weeks ago all the hand wringing was about our defense. But guess what: suddenly with Talib back, our D looks very different. In the last two games, our opponents have scored 16 and 15 points. About 7 points under their season average.
And before I hear about the right of fans to gripe and state their opinion, I'm not here to discuss the Constitution. I'm here to say something about fans who find reason to fret about pretty much everything and wonder why, if you can't enjoy a win, and a loss indicates the end of the Universe as we know it, you even follow sports. Isn't it supposed to be about enjoyment?
As for me, I'll trade 2 disappointments for 11 enjoyments any day.
