Unfortunately, Brock had back problems by the time he got to the Rams so he was never really playing healthy. But he was putting up big numbers in the CFL and was a gunslinger. The NFL was dabbling with raiding the CFL for talent at that time though so Brock wasn't too much of a mystery signing. It was a totally different era when it came to free agency and quality QB's weren't just out there to be had. If a guy was a FA or attainable, like Namath, Jones, Pastorini and Bartkowski, they were probably used up.
