and I don't know exactly how this next fits into what you've brought up... though I know it does...
Last game was unique for a lot of reasons... but most glaring to me was that 'field position' was a non-factor.. for BOTH teams... PLUS... and here's the gist of this: both coaches were aware of that and play called accordingly.
Reid and McVay both entered that game with that attitude.. and they finished the game precisely the same.
There wasn't a deep in your own end demeanor... or a neutral zone demeanor.. or even a RZ demeanor.
Then mix that with the 'clock was a non-factor'.... if the clock wasn't at zero... it was time to score.
I have no doubt in my mind at all that both Reid and McVay, should it have happened, could have started a drive with 10 seconds left in the game and on their own 1 and been confident they were going to score.
Best game ever? I can't say that... can't say most exciting either... but toss in the uniqueness of it all and I think I can say most intriguing game I ever saw.
