Well, I have torn both of my acls playing football (college level). Two of my daughters play college basketball. One tore both of her acls and the other daughter tore one. All of our orthopedic doctors are NFL doctors for the Indianapolis Colts. Trust me. I've been around a lot of NFL players as my family rehabbed their ACLs along side NFL players. Yes, you can start to return the game at 5-6 months. You can even start playing again at 8-9 months, but very few pro football players are 100% of their old selves prior to 11-12 months. Some take even longer.
This comes from NFL doctors and NFL players so I stand by my previous post.
