I think Wade's defense is supposed to put immediate pressure on the QB and force the ball out quickly. Having the CBS playing press coverage dovetails nicely in that scheme. I'm not sure having Peters playing 10 yards off his guy is a good plan if the idea is to force a quick pass. Peters' guy will always be the hot read (although perhaps this would prevent another 72 yard TD).
I don't think we're seeing the ball being forced out quickly at all. This D has given up plenty of long strikes. Offenses are doing a lot more than using the hot read so something needs to change.
If that's his strategy, it's already problematic so maybe an adjustment is necessary on that basis alone.
