If it is a 3rd round comp pick the Rams are giving up, it will be more like a 4th round selection. There was also some mention of the Rams getting a comp pick for Fowler if he signs a big enough contract. So I am hoping that kind of washes out. And we are left with the Rams simply giving up the 5th.
With Jamon Brown, I'm a bit dumbfounded. Is he disgruntled? Or is there some unknown reason to let him go? Or am I jaded because for the last 15 years the Rams OL has been below par and now that they have some quality I am valuing them too much? IDK
I'm not down on the move but definitely in a wait and see mode. I am hoping that a change of scenery (culture, defensive scheme, financial opportunity, etc.) will help Fowler live up to his potential. He could be a star but even if he is just better than what they have, I think that will help... and is probably worth it. Especially if the Rams receive a comp pick when he leaves.
