that's a good point AlbaNY. of course, the rams wouldn't get that comp pick until 2020, but then again neither would the jags. the best the jags can do if they hold onto fowler for the rest of this season is a 3rd round comp pick in 2020. and based on the sparse playing time he's getting, he may be faced with a 1 year prove it deal which would not yield the jags a 3rd round comp pick.
talent-wise, i agree with alyo, a 4th or a 5th round pick for him would be stealing. however, fowler would come with risk given his off field and lockeroom issues. the big question on what to pay in my mind is who is the competition and how desperate are they? Saints tapped out their cap space with apple. not sure what the panthers need or if fowler fits the their scheme. the packers or chiefs?
