I'm fairly sure there are 20+ teams in the NFL who if they player at the Rams would be super loud and remove the home field advantage.
I don't think the question is why are we so badly supported, but what do we do about it?
A certain stalwart of the Rams (and a guy whose posts I love as much as any!) sold his tickets yesterday for a princely sum. And who could blame him?
However, if Packer fans are prepared to pay into the thousands for tickets in LA, then why don't we see them dominating more stadiums?
I understand most live locally, but by the same token that representation will be in other cities. And if you're paying into the thousands for tickets, then airfare becomes less of a factor.
I doubt there are more Packers fans in LA than there are in NYC.
And looking at NYC, it will be chock full of Cowboys fans, yet they don't over run the stadium when they play the Giants. Nor do they in DC or Philly.
My hunch is that Rams fans are looking to sell tickets and make hay. Whereas Cowboys, Packers, Steelers fans (and many more) just don't even consider selling because their support and the pleasure they get from attending is worth more than money.
If the Rams were 7-0 going into the game yesterday in St Louis it would have been a very different story even though I understand the reasons are not just loyalty baed, but geographic too.
Well we've all seen Packer games in St Louis and it's was just as bad or worse.....especially before and after the GSOT days.
Pack travel well and the other problem the Rams have is the weather....funny how good weather is a hindrance, but SoCal is a destination that a lot of visiting team fans circle on the calander as a place to go see their team play, especially cold weather cities like GB and Minn.... it was 80 degrees and sunny yesterday. If I was another teams fan, this is one of the places I'd like to go that's for sure.... it was a problem in San Diego for decades
And yes, the other problem is there is only about 50,000 true Rams fans in LA at most, I'm talking about the die hard types that stuck with this team even after the move to St Louis. So when people see dollar signs that are casual or Johnny come lately type fans they are going to sell ...it also didn't help that there was a Kings game, Clippers game and World Series game all within a 20 mile radius yesterday to choose from
I've been to every game since they've been back and yesterday was by far the biggest opposing team fans crowd I've ever seen.
There was nothing better than turning their stupid "Go Pack Go" chant into "Go Back Home" after the game....it was worth all the money and stress of yesterday's game
